The ousted speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, on Monday stormed the state House of Assembly as tussle for the speakership of the State legislative body rages on.
Upon his arrival at the assembly, Obasa met with some lawmakers outside the chamber of the Assembly with Mojisola Meranda, incumbent Speaker of the assembly, in attendance.
The meeting subsequently split into two groups of at least 10 lawmakers each.
The details of the meeting have not been made public yet, but it may not be unconnected to ongoing efforts to resolve the leadership impasse at the Assembly which has now entered its third month.
Recall that crisis leadership crisis bedeviling the assembly began when lawmakers impeached Obasa while he was away in the United States, US, in January.
The lawmakers cited abuse of office and financial impropriety for their decision.
Upon his return, Obasa described his removal as unconstitutional because it never followed due process.
However, Obasa stormed the assembly last week and forcefully broke into the office the Speaker.
He also presided over plenary while declaring that he was never removed as Speaker.
