  • Opposition leaders like Atiku, Obi, Amaechi, and el-Rufai are forming a united front to rescue Nigeria in 2027.
  • International community quietly withdrawing support from Tinubu administration over poor economic performance and disillusionment with governance.

The special assistant on public communication to former vice-president Atiku Abubakar, Phrank Shaibu, has said the All Progressives Congress will be defeated in the 2027 presidential election as a result of widespread hunger and economic suffering.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Shaibu said the administration of the president, Bola Tinubu, is nothing more than a gang of “urban bandits” who rigged their way into power.

He said the economic pain under the APC has become unbearable, and Nigerians would no longer tolerate bad governance.

“No amount of propaganda can cover hunger. No PR can spin poverty,” he said.

“When salaries are worthless, businesses are folding, and hope is taxed, no billboard or ‘thank you’ rally can save you.”

He stated that the APC’s promise of “Renewed Hope” has turned into “Renewed Hardship”.

“Fuel is unaffordable, the naira has collapsed, and food prices have become a daily affliction,” he said.

He insisted that the ruling party’s label of “political IDPs” for opposition members does not diminish their growing influence.

“They are political refugees only in form, not in influence. If anything, they have gained strength in exile,” he said.

According to him, prominent opposition figures are coming together with one mission — to rescue Nigeria.

“From Atiku to Obi, from Amaechi to el-Rufai, they are uniting — not just to win, but to rescue,” he said.

Shaibu noted that young Nigerians, especially those disillusioned by the 2023 elections, will take a more calculated approach in 2027.

“The Urban Bandits may have mocked their hashtags, but they will soon learn that hashtags grow into hurricanes,” he said.

He added that the international community is losing patience with the Tinubu government and gradually withdrawing support.

He predicted a massive upset in the next polls, declaring, “the robbed will rise with the people behind them”.

Also speaking on the state of the opposition, the former governor of Benue and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Gabriel Suswam, said the proposed coalition has the strength to dethrone the APC in 2027.

Suswam said the suffering in the country cuts across all demographics and the APC should be worried.

“There is no Nigerian that is not affected by the economic policies of this administration and so I believe that the coalition will be the party to beat, and so if I am in the ruling party I should be worried about it,” he said.
