  • Soluade says Nigerians deserve a progressive government that reflects citizens’ aspirations and hopes.
  • Party says it’s confident in the experience and commitment of the new national leaders.

The Ogun state chairman of the African Democratic Congress, Femi Soluade, has declared that the party will unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Soluade made this known following the appointment of the former senate president, David Mark, as interim national chairman of the party.

The ex-governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola, was also named as the party’s interim national secretary during the opposition leaders’ meeting in Abuja on Tuesday night.

In a statement signed by the state publicity secretary, Olumide Onabajo, Soluade described the appointments as strategic and timely.

He said, “The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is thrilled to welcome the appointment of distinguished leaders Senator David Mark as the interim national chairman and His Excellency Rauf Aregbesola, the former governor of Osun State, as the interim national secretary of our great party.”

“This strategic leadership coalition is a significant step towards our collective ambition to unseat the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the national level in the upcoming 2027 elections.”

“We are confident that their wealth of experience, dedication, and commitment to democratic ideals will enhance our party’s structure and vision for a brighter Nigeria.”

He added that the Ogun State chapter is committed to ensuring ADC takes control of Oke Mosan in 2027.

“The citizens of Ogun State deserve progressive governance that reflects their aspirations,” he said.

“We believe that under the leadership of Senator David Mark and His Excellency Rauf Aregbesola, we will pave the way for this transformation.”

Soluade assured the party’s national leaders of Ogun State’s full support for the mission to reposition the party and the nation.

He urged members, stakeholders, and supporters to unite and lay the foundation for a stronger, more inclusive democracy.
