  • There has been speculation that Otti may follow in the footsteps of the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, and join the coalition-backed African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has cleared the air on the speculation regarding his future with the Labour Party (LP).

There has been speculation that Otti may follow in the footsteps of the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, and join the coalition-backed African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Obi has already submitted a one-term proposal to the opposition coalition.

Speaking on the wave of recent political developments in the country, Otti said he had no plans to leave the LP declared as he remained loyal and committed to the party

The governor also clarified that he is not part of any coalition and has not attended any gathering organised by the group or been invited to any.

Otti made the clarification during an interactive session with members of the Abia State Global Economic Council in Umuahia.

The governor said he is rather busy doing the work the Abia people gave him, adding that he is not looking for where to decamp.

Otti, while responding to assertion that the Labour Party is plagued by crisis, stated that the LP had a problem and fought through the Supreme Court to retrieve the party
