- Wike said he had never supervised a project like the War College Road, praising the contractor’s execution of the work.
- Three former G-5 governors were present during the commissioning ceremony, showing support for the FCT minister’s efforts.
The minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has slammed his critics for switching political parties repeatedly since 1999.
Wike made the comment while celebrating the ongoing commissioning of infrastructure projects in the FCT.
He said his detractors, wherever they were watching from, would see the president inaugurating completed projects daily.
He said the achievements under the current administration were clear to anyone who had eyes to see.
“Let people hear. Let those who don’t have vision, let those who are politically expired, let those, since 1999 have belonged to over 10 political parties, see what we are doing,” he said.
“Let those who have eyes see what the FCT administration under president Bola Ahmed Tinubu are doing to transform the FCT.
“I thank God that today makes it the 5th day that the president has commissioned projects and thank God that wherever they are and whichever channels they want to watch, they will see Mr President commissioning projects everyday.
“Today is the 15th day of the entire project commissioning. Friday will make it the 16th day.”
The minister said he had never supervised a project as closely as the Ushafa/War College Road.
He praised the contractor for delivering a quality job on the project.
President Bola Tinubu, who was represented by the vice president, Kashim Shettima, applauded Wike’s efforts in transforming Abuja’s satellite towns.
Shettima said the completed projects had created more economic opportunities in those areas.
He said, “We are not just building roads, we are building capacity. We are creating jobs.”
He said the FCT minister was both “dancing and performing.”
Shettima urged other leaders to emulate Wike by working towards building a Nigeria where everyone is connected.
Three former G-5 governors — Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, Samuel Ortom of Benue, and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia — attended the event.
