- Wike and Amaechi have been engaged in verbal war recently with the latter claiming the former is disrespectful to him as he brought him into politics
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, says former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, is not a man of integrity.
Wike said he likes money as no one can do without money but he described Amaechi as one of the most corrupt people in the country.
Wike and Amaechi have been engaged in verbal war recently with the latter claiming the former is disrespectful to him as he brought him into politics.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, Wike said he is not corrupt as he has not been prosecuted let alone found guilty of corruption.
According to Wike: “He (Amaechi) is one of the most corrupt people.”
He said: “When you use the word corrupt, no court has found me guilty of corruption.
“I like money; nobody can do without money. You can’t say because I said I need money to solve problems, therefore, I’m corrupt. No.
“I need money to pay my children’s school fees. I need money for my family’s healthcare. Does that make me corrupt? No.”
He also described Amaechi as a liar for saying he does not like money as he needs money to solve his problem.
“But when a man comes to the public to say, ‘I don’t like money,’ you know he is a big liar because he needs money to solve his problems.
“Talking about houses, I’m not a bush man. I’m from Obio/Akpor LGA. If you go to Ikwerre Road, my father is one of the few people who had duplexes there. Not too rich, but not from the level Amaechi came from, no,” he added.
