  • The party pledged to fix internal cracks through strategic reorganisation and grassroots reconciliation efforts.
  • The PDP insists its platform remains credible for anyone seeking reform and true leadership.

The Nasarawa State chapter of the people’s democratic party, PDP, has warned its members to steer clear of any opposition coalition talks ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The party, in a statement issued by the state publicity secretary, Mallam Hamza Ibrahim, reaffirmed its commitment to internal rebuilding and declared that it remains “stronger and more formidable than ever.”

“The state chapter of the PDP vehemently distanced herself from the ADA/ADC/COALITION,” the statement read.

“We implore our respected stakeholders who have the interest of the generality of the party and state at heart, our dedicated members and by extension every citizen to disassociate themselves from attending any meetings in the name of coalition.”

The party noted that it remains a dependable platform for political expression and reiterated its ongoing internal reforms to mend cracks and build grassroots confidence.

“The UMBRELLA is big enough to accommodate all interests and to provide a credible platform for reformation and to provide alternative leadership for our dear state and the country at large,” Ibrahim added.

Despite the bold front, cracks are showing within the party as several PDP members, including top stakeholders, are said to have resigned and joined the ADC-led coalition.

Sources within the party confirmed that hundreds have defected, signalling growing unrest and dissatisfaction among the ranks.

In a bid to douse the tension, the party said it will hold an expanded state executive committee meeting in the coming days.

The meeting, according to the statement, will focus on reviewing progress, tackling internal issues and setting out a clear plan ahead of the elections.
