APC sweeps Lagos council polls, wins all chairmanship seats, 375 councillorship slots

  • The PDP was left with a single councillor seat, highlighting the sweeping nature of APC’s electoral victory.
  • LASIEC announced the final results at its Yaba headquarters after what officials described as a peaceful and orderly process.

The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has declared the all progressives congress the winner of all chairmanship seats in the state.

The APC clinched all 20 local government areas and the 37 local council development areas.

The ruling party also secured 375 councillorship seats, while the peoples democratic party managed to win only one councillor seat.

The chairperson of LASIEC, Bola Okikiolu-Ighile, announced the results on Sunday at the commission’s office in Yaba.

She congratulated the newly elected officials and urged them to prioritise service over celebration.

“My words to the winners in the election is that this is not only a call for celebration but for service to the people who voted for them,” she said.
