  • Ehiemere said Otti should avoid crisis-prone parties and return to APGA for ideological and political stability.
  • The APGA leader applauded Otti’s performance, especially in tackling security and improving welfare in Abia State.

The national vice chairman, south-east, of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Augustine Ehiemere, has appealed to the Abia State governor, Alex Otti, to return to the party under which he began his political career.

Ehiemere described APGA as the most dependable political platform in the country and said it offers long-term political stability.

He made the appeal at a stakeholders’ forum held in the Abia south senatorial district.

He warned the governor against affiliating with political parties he said were facing internal instability and identity crises.

“APGA remains the healthiest and most stable political party in Nigeria today,” he said.

“We are calling on Governor Alex Otti to return to his political home, APGA, where he started.”

He continued, “Labour Party is presently a breeding ground for crisis. ADC is almost in disarray, APC is not a safe ground for him, and PDP has already diminished.

“APGA is the only platform that offers stability and ideological consistency for him to continue his good works.”

Ehiemere commended the governor’s approach to governance, especially in areas of public safety and citizens’ welfare.

The chieftain also applauded the collaboration between Otti and the Enugu State governor, Peter Mbah, especially their joint efforts on regional security.

He also welcomed the creation of the Abia State Security Trust Fund, describing it as a strategic initiative.

The APGA chieftain praised the state government’s regular payment of salaries and pensions, which he said had restored confidence among workers.

He, however, advised the governor to prioritise the settlement of outstanding gratuities owed to retired workers.

He encouraged party loyalists across Abia south and beyond to stay committed to APGA’s values and principles.

Otti was the APGA governorship flag bearer in the 2015 and 2019 elections in Abia before moving to the Labour Party in 2022.
