  • He stated that the sinister tactics of the ruling party have been thwarted after the ADC outplayed them in their own game.

The publisher of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu, says the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, was wrong-footed and caught off guard by the political manoeuvring of the African Democratic Congress, ADC,

This is even as he stated that the APC was in a hurry to contest the 2027 elections after their plans were upended by the coalition, adding that the sinister tactics of the ruling party have been thwarted after the ADC outplayed them in their own game.

Momodu quit the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Thursday and announced he is now a member of the coalition political party, the ADC.

Speaking in an interview on Arise News, Momodu said he and others were forced out of the party, adding that Nigeria is in turbulence and nothing seems to be working for ordinary Nigerians.

“I don’t want to mention names but we all know what’s happening in Nigeria today except those who want to hide behind one finger like Chief Abiola used to say, ‘You cannot hide behind one finger’”

The ADC chieftain said the PDP was plunged into crisis by those who lost the presidential ticket of the party in 2022.

“Since 2022, the PDP has been fighting to stay alive because those who failed the presidential election felt very bad.

“So those who lost out from being presidential candidate, from being running mate got angry and everyone tried to pacify them anyway, that has not materialised and all the meetings that are supposed to be held from time to time as a political party none could hold and the ruling party is in a hurry to contest the 2027 elections, if possible, today.

“So, they drove us out. Nobody was ready to be campaigning when Nigeria itself is in disarray and Nigerians are suffering. Nobody is talking about policies or developmental projects. It’s about politics, who will be President and the President must come again from the South.

“So, we then realised that instead of playing catch-up, we must also be on the offensive. We have decided to outplay the APC in their own game, and now they are throwing tantrums.

“We all know what the APC is capable of doing…we’re going to play them with a game they do not understand. They can see that the ADC has caught them unawares. So they’re finding every means to scatter that party again, but it’s going to be impossible by the grace of Almighty God.”
