  • Ologunagba says PDP remains organic and united despite defections, with strong grassroots support across the country.
  • PDP insists it has national reach, organisational structure, and public goodwill to dislodge APC from power in 2027.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said no patriotic Nigerian or political group will support President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

The party made the statement on Monday at a press conference in Abuja, addressed by its national publicity secretary, Mr Debo Ologunagba.

He described the president as a “bad market” and insisted that Tinubu’s administration had failed Nigerians.

“Yes, the All Progressives Congress (APC) said they are a congress. That is what the APC has said. And Congress takes care of only itself and its members,” Ologunagba said.

“With all the failures of the government of President Ahmed Tinubu, I can tell you that no patriotic Nigerian, group, or political party will support Tinubu in 2027. Tinubu is a bad market and a one-term president.”

The PDP spokesman said the party remains united despite recent defections, and that its strength lies in the support of the Nigerian people.

“PDP is strong. We have started the process of recalibration, coming together in unity because the strength of this party is in the people across the country,” he said.

“In the euphoria in the last couple of months, especially in the last couple of weeks, there have been defections.

“Our party is organic and formidable, and it is essential to emphasise that the people who truly make a party are the people themselves.

“Very true, leaders are important, but there can’t be leaders without followers. And so those followers are there.”

He noted that Nigerians were not defecting from the PDP despite hunger and insecurity, adding that the party remained the only viable alternative to the ruling APC.

“What is good for the party is the fact that the people are not defecting,” he continued.

The people are not defecting from hunger and insecurity. PDP is the only party that can unseat APC. It is clear. There is empirical evidence.

“We have the support and base. We are organic. We have the national spread. There is no community in Nigeria where you won’t find the PDP presence.

“Due to our membership and years of experience in government, we have positively impacted the lives of Nigerians.”

He said Nigerians were eagerly looking forward to the return of the PDP to power in 2027.

“People want to know what the PDP is doing. Privately, people call me and say, ‘please come together and rescue this country from this maladministration and insensitivity,” he added.
