Police arrest suspected ATM fraudstars in Jigawa

A suspected syndicate of ATM fraudsters that have been terrorizing Dutse metropolis have been bursted by the Police in Jigawa State.

The development was confirmed by the spokesman of the command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam via a press statement issued to newsmen.

Lawan Shiisu Adam disclosed that the suspected fraudsters were apprehended after the police received report from one Usman Nasir of Albasu Local Government of Kano State that one Nuhu Gambo duped him of his ATM card.

He said the suspect deceitfully collected the victim’s ATM card with the pretense of teaching him how to withdraw the sum of twenty thousand naira (N20,000.00k) from his bank account.

The suspect then swapped the ATM card with another card and took to his heels.

Shiisu said on receiving the report, detectives swung into action and arrested the suspect.

He said the suspect confessed to having committed the offense with his accomplices, one Alhassan and Baban Baba, A.K.A August, now at-large.

The police spokesman said he was found with twenty (20) pieces of ATM cards belonging to different banks.

He said the case was under investigation.
