On Monday, during the committee of the whole session, the Kano State House of Assembly approved the N58 billion supplementary budget presented by Governor Abba Yusuf, effectively increasing the state’s 2023 budget to N326 billion.

Lawan Hussaini (NNPP- Dala), the majority leader, emphasized that this budget allocation would facilitate the execution of crucial developmental projects.

Mr. Hussaini expressed gratitude to his fellow lawmakers for their collaborative efforts in swiftly passing the supplementary budget, highlighting that it would support the administration in meeting its development objectives.

He reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to diligent oversight, ensuring that allocated funds for projects are utilized effectively.

Furthermore, the House recognized and rewarded Auwalu Danbaba, a tricycle rider, with a commendation letter and a cash prize of N1.5 million for his honesty in returning approximately N10 million left behind by a passenger in his tricycle.

Mr. Danbaba expressed his gratitude to the lawmakers for this generous gesture.
