Bayero University, Kano, has resumed academic activities following the return of normalcy after the #EndBadGovernance protest, the university’s spokesperson, Lamara Garba, announced on Wednesday.

Garba said the university resumed complete academic activities after the Kano State Government relaxed the curfew, which was imposed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“The Management has directed all staff to resume normal duty. Lectures and other academic activities are to resume with caution,” the statement read. “However, all university activities should end by 5:00 p.m. pending further development.”

Heads of departments and units are to ensure strict compliance with these directives.

The university’s resumption of activities comes a day after authorities suspended operations due to the #EndBadGovernance protest, which led to looting and loss of lives in the state.

Protesters were dispersed in Kano after widespread looting and property destruction. The state government relaxed movement restrictions from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. following an improvement in security and the resumption of business activities.
