Truck crashes into Lagos market, crushes three to death

Three people have lost their lives after a truck crashed into a market in Lagos State.

The truck reportedly rammed into Ayetoro Market after suffering brake failure, killing the victims.

The truck was said to be descending from Ita-Opo when the brakes failed and the driver lost control it.

It hit a commercial tricycle and a parked Toyota Camry before plunging into the market.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority confirmed the tragic incident on its official X handle on Monday.

According to the agency, the remains of the deceased have been deposited at the morgue.

The post read: “A fatal accident occurred due to a brake failure of a truck descending from Ita-Opo. It hit a commercial tricycle and a parked Toyota Camry before ramming into the Ayetoro Market/Complex.

“Three lives were lost, and the bodies have been taken to the morgue at Epe General Hospital. A tow truck is on the ground to evacuate the affected vehicles.

“Traffic has been diverted for smooth vehicular movement
