Cynosure Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Hospital has finally spoken amid widespread claims that Nigerian socialite, Jessica Elena, died at its facility while undergoing a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure.

Recall that social media was agog over the weekend after reports emerged alleging that Elena died after developing severe complications while under the knife for a second BBL surgery at the Lagos-based aesthetic hospital.

The hysteria and furore about her death exacerbated after a gory and disturbing video surfaced online showing a woman believed to be Jessica lying on a hospital bed and writhing in excruciating pain and weeping profusely while medical workers reportedly carried out a wound dressing procedure following the surgery.

The footage triggered widespread outrage and emotional reactions across social media platforms.

Reacting to the controversy, Cynosure Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Hospital debunked claims that the viral video was recorded at its facility.

In an official statement released via the hospital’s official Instagram page on Monday, the management of the facility stated that the hospital has nothing to do with the video, and that the footage was wrongly linked to the hospital.

According to the hospital, it does not recognise the location shown in the video and has no confirmation that the incident occurred within its premises.

The statement read in part, “Cynosure Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Hospital is aware of a video circulating on social media showing a patient screaming during a surgical procedure, which is being falsely attributed to our facility.

“We state clearly: this video was not recorded at our clinic, and we do not know the location or facility where it occurred.”

The hospital implored the public to avoid spreading unverified content, noting that such circulation adds further pain to the grieving family.

While extending condolences to the family of the deceased, the management urged social media users to handle the matter with compassion and sensitivity.

The death of Jessica Elena has reignited discussion around the safety of cosmetic procedures such as BBL surgeries and the increasing demand for body enhancement treatments
