Police begins Investigation on Alleged Nanny who stabs employer to death and flees with properties’ Case

The police have begun the search for a nanny, Becky Johnson, who allegedly killed her employer, Yemisi Hassz, at her Asokoro, Abuja home, before fleeing with her belongings.

The Federal Capital Territory Police spokesman, Anjuguri Manzah, said that the “police were working on the case,” adding that efforts were in top gear to apprehend the suspect.

Hassz was buried last Wednesday at Apo cemetery, Abuja.

The deceased’s friend, Ruby Galore, who said that the incident occurred on September 23, 2018, had left her devastated.

She explained that Hassz was home alone with her little daughter and Johnson when the murder took place.

According to her, the fugitive nanny, after killing her mistress, locked her corpse in the room with her daughter and bolted with money, phones, and other valuables.

She said, “My friend was married to an Israelite and her husband is not always around. She lives in the house with her daughter and the maid, Johnson Becky.

“On the day of the incident, Becky after attacking her locked her inside with her daughter, packed some of her valuables and ran away.”

Galore explained that the security guards at the house initially prevented her from leaving, but Johnson, she said, managed to trick them and escaped from the area around 11pm.

“When she told the security guards that she was traveling to her village and needed to pack her things, they stopped her from moving out, insisting that Yemisi did not inform them she was traveling.

“They called her phones but there was no response. Becky then told the guards that she wanted to go into the taxi to pick up her other phone so she could call her Madam and that was how she fled and had not been seen till date,” she explained.

Galore stated that Hassz’ body was found in the pool of her blood the next day after the door to her room was forced open by the guards on the instruction of her husband who was out of the country.

She expressed frustration over the slow pace of the investigation into the murder and expressed concern that Johnson, from Akwa Ibom State, may escape justice. Related to this topic; Husband of the Lady who was alledgely stabbed to death by her nanny reacts
