Anambra State Police Command have arrested two private security guards at the Independent Layout Estate, Nkwelle Ezunaka in the Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State on Sunday for armed robbery.

According to Southern City News, it was reliably gathered that the suspects, Ogbang Clement and Udeh Orji, allegedly robbed their victim of his telephone and other belongings at gunpoint and a locally made pistol was recovered from them.

Spokesperson of the Police in the state, Haruna Mohammed confirmed the incident, saying detectives attached to the 33 Division apprehended the suspects.

Mohammed said, “Police detectives attached to the 33 Division, Onitsha, arrested one Ogbang Clement, 34, and Udeh Orji, 21. They are private security personnel attached to the Independent Layout Estate, Nkwelle Ezunaka.

“The suspects conspired and robbed one Ogbonna Usulor of Nkwelle Ezunaka of his phone and other personal belongings. Exhibits recovered from them are a locally-made pistol loaded with life ammunition and the stolen items.”

The PPRO added that one Obi Alexander was also arrested by detectives attached to the 33 Division in Onitsha.

He said Alexander conspired with one Felix Ekuneme, 48, (now at large) of the Holy Trinity Estate and stole a Toyota Camry car belonging to one Ozoemana Madu of the Tobis Estate.

While saying efforts are being intensified to arrest the runaway suspect and bring him to justice, Mohammed reassured the people of the command’s preparedness to reduce crime in the state to the barest minimum.

He urged members of the public to report suspicious persons or movements to the nearest police station or through the designated emergency numbers for prompt action.
