It was like an act of a fantastic movie script in Uganda community as a new television set inside Jinja Police station disappears on Monday.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the 40-inch television was removed from the wall adjacent to the reception and carted away and till the reportage, it has not been found.

The 40-inch television set was given to police officers by Startimes in December.

There are speculations that the police officers tried to bury the case but the incident was later confirmed by one detective who prefers anonymity.

According to reports, the police officers attached to the station said that they have no idea how the television went missing or who took their new television set.

However, the Police Public Relations Officer of Kiira Police, Diana Nandaula confirmed the robbery

“It is true our television has been stolen and we have tasked the officers who were on duty to explain how that happened.

“Police are now carrying out investigations on how the television set could have been stolen right under their own noses, she said.
