Woman kills maid over salary in Lagos

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a woman identified as Mrs. Nene Steve for allegedly killing her maid identified as Joy Okom over the latter request for her wage.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the woman identified as Mrs. Steve who is a resident of 18 Ogundola street, Bariga allegedly killed her maid on Sunday, April 18.

According to report, detectives of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence (SCIID) Yaba arrested the woman following complaints by the deceased’s relatives that she was beaten to death by her boss.

Reacting to the tragic incident, Okom’s elder brother identified as Philips Eje disclosed that he got information that the woman beat his sister and hung her to death for alleged theft of noodles.

“She is from Benue State and started working as a maid for the woman in order to raise money to further her education. She started the job in January, he added.
