PHOTO: Unknown gunmen kill Kogi-based businessman, Nicholas Ofodile

Yet-to-be identified gunmen have reportedly killed a Kogi-based businessman and owner of popular chain of Chuks Supermarket identified as Nicholas Ofodile in Lokoja, the capital of Kogi state.

WITHIN NIGERIA had earlier reported that there was tragedy in Kogi State today after some daredevil armed robbers, numbering about 18 stormed Isanlu community to unleash mayhem.

It was learnt that the deceased, Ofodile ran into an armed gang operating along the Gegu/Koton-Karfe axis of the Kogi-Abuja expressway on Wednesday afternoon.

According to report, Ofodile unknowingly drove into a fierce gun battle between the criminals and men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) before he was killed alongside two other persons.

In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that there was sign of relief among commuters in Idah Local Government following the killing of two notorious armed robbers and kidnappers terrorizing the area by the Kogi State Police Command.

The deceased suspects were identified as Onucha Opia and Danlami Shuaibu
