Police parade 18 suspected criminals in Cross River

Eighteen (18) suspected criminals arrested for various offences in different locations in Cross River State have been paraded by the state Commissioner of Police, CP Abdulkadir Jimoh.

Parading the suspects and recovered items at the State Police Headquarters, Diamond Hill, Calabar Municipal local government area of the state, on Friday, the CP reassured members of the public to continue their good works in tackling crime through information dissemination.

He said modern policing methodology requires complementary role through citizens participation in all the nooks and crannies irrespective of the geographical locations.

“May I also use this medium to call on traditional institutions, Community Leaders, Religious/youth leaders to see security as a collective business in addressing all forms of criminals elements across the state, especially now that the yuletide season is drawing close

The Command also warned all persons or group of persons who unlawfully produce and possess firearms to wilfully return same to the Police at all levels as contrary action will attract prosecution if caught” the CP stated.

He listed the items recovered to include one Camry car with registration no CAL 124 AA, One Toyota Corolla ash colour car with Reg No DUK 848 AX, One space runner car with Reg No KJA 34 BJ Blue colour, one damage revolver gun, three live cartridges, RAV 4 Jeep with Reg No kke 231 AA.

Also recovered were Toyota Camry car with Reg No AW 68 KTN, Hiace Bus with Reg No UYY 31 XA Hiace Bus with Reg No CAL 214 AA, Fourteen bags of dry Cocoa, one Daylong Motorcycle with engine No 162FMJ*441224527, Chasis No LEAPCKOB5GOBOO280, Plate No CAL Kama 100 A, One G3 Rifle, Three locally made pistols and one locally made revolver gun, two locally made long single barrel gun.

Also recovered from the suspects were one locally made short gun, three live 7.63mm ammunition, one thousand four hundred and five live cartridges, one locally-made toy gun, 14 bags of dry Cocoa, one hundred and eighty-six thousand naira, 6 Iron rods, excavated silver wrapping sheet for armoured cables, insulating rubber coverings, one matchet one black beret, one metal saw and plier, a pair of rain boots

One hoe/shovel, five assorted handsets, one dagger, N10, 500, five assorted handsets, two computer modern, one dagger, one machete two rings, two hand beads and handkerchief, one wrist watches, two handbags, local black charms, one pack of oral B toothpaste, charms, two bottles of criminal charms, one dry skin of snake were also recovered.
