The West African Examination Council (WAEC) on Friday extended registration for its 2020 West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates.

WITHIN NIGERIA reports that this was made known in a tweet via its Twitter handle, @waecnigeria

Recall that WAEC had previously extended the registration deadline to Friday, October 23, 2020.

The West African examination body stated that the new registration deadline is Friday, November 13, 2020.

It tweeted, “WASSCE for private candidates, 2020 – second series: Further extension of registration period.

“Intending candidates should note that there has been a further extension of the registration period to Friday, November 13, 2020. Thank you.”

Meanwhile, the results of 215,149 candidates that sat for the 2020 WASSCE has been withheld by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

This was confirmed in a statement on Monday, 2nd November by the examination body when it announced the release of results for candidates who sat for the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

According to WAEC, the 215,149 candidates who had their results withheld are under investigation for various reported cases of examination malpractices.
