Kano Govt seals hospital for violating COVID-19 protocols

The Kano State Government has sealed a private hospital, UMC Zahir Hospital in Kano for treating sever cases of coronavirus, COVID-19.

This was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday in Kano by the Commissioner for Information, Mr Muhammad Garba.

According to the Commissioner, the hospital was shutdown in accordance with the standard set by the state Task Force on COVID-19, which requireed such facility to attend only to mild cases of the disease.

Garba said two confirmed patients with severe cases had died, one at the facility and another on the way to the hospital.

He said two other patients with sever cases in the hospital have been evacuated to the state’s isolation centre for proper treatment.

According to the statement, the facility would remain closed until the matter is resolved between the management and the state government.
