Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi has died. Another large star has fallen from the sky. This time, it dropped in Gombe State, known as the Jewel of the Savannah. Tragedy occurred in Gombe, but West Africa mourns the death of Dahiru, a religious leader who lived for Islam.

He was a man of authority and respect. He led Tijanniyah, one of Africa’s largest Muslim communities. Those who disagree with his Sufi attitude recognize his strategic prowess and power of persuasion.

Dahiru’s admirers said that although he was a man, he was more than one person. He was a well-known Islamic scholar who made significant contributions to the expansion and advancement of Islam in West Africa. After leading a happy life of service, he lost the fight against the grim reaper at the age of 98.

The expansion of Islamic education through scholarship and high-quality participation was his biggest accomplishment. His growth narrative is motivational. His journey from a young man in Nafada, a Gombe town, who was passionate about Islam to the leader of the Tijanniyah Sufi order in Nigeria and West Africa reveals more about him as a kind and helpful man.
