Award-winning Nigerian actress Chioma Akpotha has been plunged into deep mourning following the passing of her beloved father, Leonard Ndukaife Chukwuka.
The acclaimed film star took to social media to share the heartbreaking news with her fans and colleagues, revealing the profound sorrow of losing her last surviving parent. Akpotha noted that she lost her mother 13 years ago, making the departure of her father an exceptionally heavy blow.

Reflecting on her loss, she wrote, “My daddy, papa’m , obara’m ,my comfort, and such a precious part of my life… GONE! The thought that I have neither parent here anymore breaks my heart in a way I cannot fully explain.”
Despite her grief, Akpotha expressed profound gratitude to God for blessing her father with a long life, noting that he lived to see his children and grandchildren grow. However, she admitted that no matter how many years one is granted with a parent, the desire for more time remains.

The actress appealed to the public to keep her, her siblings, and the entire Chukwuka family in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult transition. She added that official details regarding the funeral arrangements will be communicated by the family in due course.
Concluding her tribute with words of faith, she shared verses from Proverbs 17:6 and Psalm 34:18, drawing comfort from scripture as she bids farewell to her father, whom she affectionately called the “Olowo of Ikate.”
