On October 4, 2026, Temi Nkem went from being one of 24 strangers competing for public votes to becoming the latest winner of popular reality show, Big Brother Naija.
The 21-year-old content creator was crowned winner of the Season 11 “Show Ya Sef” edition after 70 days in Biggie’s house, beating Aikou, who finished as the first runner-up, and Sheba, who emerged as the second runner-up.
Temi secured 25.87 per cent of the final votes, while Aikou polled 23.68 per cent and Sheba 9.80 per cent. Her victory came with a ₦160 million prize package, including ₦90 million in cash, a brand-new SUV and other prizes from the show’s sponsors.
But long before the cameras, nominations and live eviction shows, Temi had already begun building a life between London and Nigeria.
She was a university student, a lifestyle content creator and a young woman interested in finance and digital media. BBNaija gave millions of Nigerians a closer look at her personality, but her story did not begin in Biggie’s house.
So, who is Temi Nkem?
Who is Temi Nkem?

Temitope Chigbue better known as Temi Nkem is a 21-year-old Nigerian who was born and raised in London, England. Although she grew up in the United Kingdom, Temi has strong Nigerian roots. Her father is from Ibusa in Delta State, while her mother is from Ebute Metta in Lagos.
Before entering BBNaija, she had already relocated to Lagos, meaning her experience in Nigeria did not begin with the reality show. Her London upbringing, Nigerian family background and life in Lagos became important parts of the identity she brought into the house.
Temi was also not presented simply as a reality-TV hopeful. She entered the show as a student and lifestyle content creator with ambitions outside television.
The student behind the reality star
Away from the entertainment spotlight, Temi is an Accounting and Finance student. She has also developed an interest in treasury, a field closely connected to finance and the management of money. That background became particularly interesting after her BBNaija victory because Temi now has a large cash prize to manage.
Speaking in an interview after her victory, she explained that she had already thought about what she would do with the money.
“I will be investing a very big sum of my money,” she said, explaining that her background in Accounting and Finance had taught her how to think about growing money.
She also confirmed that she intends to return to university and complete her studies. Her education, therefore, remains part of the plan even after her sudden rise to fame.
Before Biggie: Temi the content creator

Before BBNaija introduced her to a much larger audience, Temi was already building a presence online as a lifestyle content creator.
Her interests include fashion, everyday lifestyle content and vlogging. She has also expressed an interest in working with major fashion and entertainment brands. Her creative side gave her another route into the public eye, separate from reality television. And after BBNaija, she intends to take that side of her career even further.
Temi has spoken about creating more lifestyle videos and vlogs, while also exploring what Nigeria and the wider African market have to offer her. In her post-win interview, she said she wanted to remain in Nigeria for at least two years to build on the opportunities available to her. In her words:
“I do want to stay here for a minimum of two years. See what Africa has for me. See what Nigeria has for me. Build on that.”
The personality she brought into Big Brother’s house
When Temi entered the Season 11 house, she was not shy about how she saw herself. Before the competition began, she described herself as bold, vibrant and “impossible to ignore.”
She also openly admitted that she could be “very egotistical and arrogant” and said she did not believe in shrinking herself for other people.
That confidence quickly became one of the defining parts of her BBNaija identity. She also told viewers that she came to bring “luxury” and “spice”, signalling from the beginning that she intended to make an impression, and she did.
During her 70 days in the house, Temi became one of the more outspoken personalities of the season, finding herself involved in several conversations, disagreements, friendships and dramatic moments.
70 days that changed everything

Temi entered Biggie’s house as one of 24 contestants when Season 11 began. Over the following weeks, the competition tested the housemates through nominations, Head of House games, tasks, alliances, relationships and several twists.
One of the major moments in Temi’s journey came in September when she was involved in a fake eviction twist. Rather than ending her time on the show, the twist sent her back into the competition, giving her another opportunity to fight for the grand prize.
She continued to survive the public vote and eventually made it to the final stage of the competition. Her journey also included friendships with several housemates and romantic speculation involving some of the men in the house.
Looking back after the show, Temi said she believed about 70 per cent of what viewers saw was genuinely her, while 30 per cent was the game. She said:
“I would say maybe 30 per cent was a game, 70 per cent was actually me genuinely being curious.”
She explained that she often asked questions because she genuinely wanted to understand situations, rather than because she was deliberately creating a character for the cameras.
The relationships and friendships that shaped her stay
Like most BBNaija seasons, Temi’s journey was not only about tasks and evictions. Her relationships with other housemates also became part of the story.
She formed close friendships with housemates including Bluethopia, Bells, Shibi, Godessa and Araga, while her interactions with Barry, Kivo and Tram attracted attention from viewers.
After the show, Temi reflected on some of those relationships. She admitted that she initially found Barry attractive but lost interest after feeling that he was not taking enough initiative. She was also attracted to Kivo when he entered the house, although that connection became complicated. Her relationship with Tram also generated attention during the season. Temi said she was physically attracted to him but did not develop romantic feelings for him.
Rather than leaving the house with a relationship, Temi maintained that she had entered the show primarily to have fun and experience the moment.
October 4, 2026: Temi becomes the winner

After 70 days, the journey came down to the final housemates. On Sunday, October 4, the Season 11 finale aired live and when the final voting results were announced, Temi had secured 25.87 per cent of the votes. Aikou finished second with 23.68 per cent, while Sheba placed third with 9.80 per cent.
Then came the announcement that changed Temi’s life: she was officially the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 11.
She walked away with a ₦160 million prize package that included ₦90 million in cash, a new SUV and additional sponsored prizes.
The cash component had originally been ₦100 million, but ₦10 million was allocated to the season’s Most Influential Player of the Week prize fund. Her victory also made her the fifth female winner in BBNaija history, following Mercy Eke, Phyna, Ilebaye and Imisi.
She didn’t know she could win
Despite making it to the final and surviving several difficult stages of the competition, Temi said she did not actually expect to win. Part of that doubt came from something she heard repeatedly during her time on the show, that contestants who come from abroad do not usually win Big Brother Naija.
She said those comments made her question her chances. But instead of allowing that belief to stop her, Temi decided to enjoy the experience and remain herself. She recalled:
“As I was hearing that, I was thinking, you know what? Might as well have my fun”.
She connected that decision to the theme of the season, “Show Ya Sef”, adding:
“Still, the show was called ‘Show Ya Sef’, so I might as well still show myself. So that’s what I did. And guess what? I still won.”
For Temi, the victory therefore became more than a reality-TV achievement. It became proof that the doubts surrounding her background did not have to determine her outcome.
₦90 million later: What comes next for Temi?

Winning BBNaija has changed Temi’s public profile overnight, but she already has an idea of what she wants to do next.
First is her education. Temi plans to return to university and complete her Accounting and Finance studies. She said she can continue the programme online while spending time in Nigeria.
Then comes her money. Speaking after receiving her prize, she said she intends to invest a substantial part of her ₦90 million cash prize, support her parents and also spend some money on herself.
Beyond the money, Temi wants to build on the visibility BBNaija has given her. She plans to create more content, produce lifestyle vlogs and explore opportunities with brands in Nigeria and beyond. Her goal is not simply to remain known as a former reality-TV contestant. She wants to use the platform to build something bigger.
Conclusion
Temi Nkem’s BBNaija story is, in many ways, a story of transition. She entered the show as a 21-year-old London-born Nigerian, university student and lifestyle content creator. Seventy days later, she walked out as the winner of one of Africa’s biggest reality television shows.
Her journey took her from London to Lagos, from social media content to national television, and from being one of 24 housemates to becoming the fifth woman to win Big Brother Naija.
She also leaves the show with something more valuable than the ₦160 million prize package: a much larger audience and a platform to decide what comes next.
