In the video, originally shared during the promotion of his Timeless album in 2023, Davido recounts his decision to connect with Wizkid to showcase their friendship.
He reveals that he reached out to Wizkid to urge their respective fans to avoid conflicts leading up to his album’s release.
“I called this guy and said, ‘Look, my album is coming out Thursday at 12 a.m. Leave Wizkid fans; don’t fight anybody. I was with Wizkid a couple of days ago, and we didn’t fight. I want my album to come out clean,’” Davido stated.
He further explained that despite their intentions, the situation escalated when his album leaked two days before its official release.
