Gunmen attack Osun village, kill six

Unknown gunmen have reportedly attacked a village in Wasinmi area of Ayedire Local Government Area in Osun State.

Six persons were reportedly killed by gunmen during the attack.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the attack by gunmen caused tension and fear in the village.

It was also learnt that the gunmen stormed the village and started shooting indiscriminately.

As at the time of filling this report, the cause of the attack was not yet ascertained.

Speaking on the development, the police public relations officer in the state, Mrs Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident.

She said: “Six people were killed and the Commissioner of Police, Mr Wale Olokode has visited the scene.”

In other news, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that a branch of Wema bank situated in Okuku, Odo-Otin local government, Osun state has been attacked by unknown gunmen suspected to be armed robbers.

WITHIN NIGERIA assembled that the gunmen suspected to be armed robbers invaded the new generation bank around noon and they shot sporadically into the air to create fear and scare residents away from the surroundings of the bank.

When contacted, the police public relations officer in the state, Mrs Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident.
