Man sets ex-lover, two children ablaze in Ibadan

A man, identified as Ahmed Saka, on Wednesday set his ex-lover, Mutiat Oladele, and her two children ablaze at Shogoye, Idi-Arere area of Ibadan, Oyo State

The Oyo state Police Public Relations Officer, Olugbenga Fadeyi on Thursday told newsmen that Mutiat and Saka, had been lovers before the woman ended the relationship, NAN reports.

Fadeyi said Saka had threatened to end his life and that of Mutiat because she called off their relationship and later carried out the act at midnight.

It was gathered that three other children also sustained varying degree of injury as a result of the fire and are currently receiving treatment at Anglican Diocese Hospital, Molete.

“They are lovers; the man went to set the house of his ex-lover ablaze because the woman said she was no longer interested in the relationship.

“The woman and her two children died as a result of the incident.

“The man that set the house ablaze died later while three other children sustained injury and are being treated at the hospital.”

The police PRO added that investigation was going on the matter.
