PHOTOS: Victims of herdsmen attacks buried in Benue amid tears

There was mourning and sadness as some of the victims of the recent herdsmen attacks in communities in Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State, were laid to rest.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that no fewer than 19 persons were killed when suspected Fulani herdsmen on Monday, attacked Tse Amgbem, Udam near Aondoana, and Agbanu Seghev/Ukuse, all in Gwer West.

The victims were on Thursday, May 6, buried by the Chairman of Gwer-West LG Council, Hon. Mrs Ashi Grace Igbabon as directed by Governor Samuel Ortom.

In other report, over twelve shallow graves have been uncovered in the compound of Mr. Uduak Akpan, the suspected killer of Akwa Ibom job seeker, Miss Iniubong Umoren.

The youths of the community enraged by the gruesome murder of Umoren, a graduate of philosophy in the guise of offering her a job in Uyo, stormed the compound, and vandalised the building, using pebbles after setting ablaze the security house of the one storey building.
