The Southern Kaduna Baptist Conference (SKBC) has called on the federal government and Kaduna state to secure the release of abducted students of Bethel Baptist High School, Damishi, Chikun LGA of Kaduna.

Recall that a total of 121 students on June 5 were abducted when bandits invaded the school.

The police said they rescued 26 students after the attack.

The bandits have contacted the school management to demand 30 bags of rice and other food items.

Speaking on the development, Donald Arak, president of the conference, in a statement on Saturday, wondered why the bandits have not been tracked despite the NIN-SIM linkage policy of the federal government.

Arak noted that banditry is an organised crime as bandits are not asking for food items, while bemoaning the mental state of the abducted students.

“How on earth will you forcefully take away such a number of minors without considering the psychological injury you will be inflicting on them,” he was quoted by NAN.

“This goes to show how ungodly and heartless the kidnappers are.

“And why haven’t these people been tracked? What is the reason for the NIN-SIM card registration?

“Imagine the bandits requesting for specific number of food items and even bargaining. This is a systematically organised crime.

“We, therefore, demand that these students be released without any further delay and in perfect condition of health.”

He noted that it is the responsibility of the government to protect the lives of its citizens, adding that the church will continue to pray that evil will not prevail.

“As for the parents and leadership of Kaduna Baptist Conference, let’s continue to pray for an end to all evil and their sponsors in Kaduna State and in the country at large. Righteousness must overcome wickedness in Jesus name,” he added.
