Police in Jigawa State have arrested a 20-year-old boy over alleged drugging and sodomising of a minor in Gumel Local Government.
ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the state Police spokesman, confirmed the arrest.
According to a report by Daily Post, the incident happened on Sunday, July 11, at Kofar Saja quarters in Gumel.
ASP Adamu disclosed that one Hamza Bulama Kailu took a 12-year-old boy into his friend’s house and forcefully had a carnal knowledge of him.
Adam explained that the suspect allegedly used dangerous drugs inside a soft drink to drug his victim.
He said as a result, the victim fell asleep and the suspect later forcefully had a carnal knowledge of him through his anus.
The police spokesman said the suspect was arrested and the victim was taken to sexual referral center Dutse for medical examination.
