The Jigawa State Police Command has confirmed the death of a 25-year-old man who hanged himself in his room at Chamo village in Dutse Local Government Area.
ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the Spokesman of the Command, said the incident happened on Friday around 12:30pm.
He explained that the deceased, identified as Nura Muham, was suspected to have mental problems after he came back from Lagos.
Adam said the deceased’s wife had narrated to the police that Muham had warned her in the early hours of the day about his possible death.
He said the wife confirmed that the deceased was mentally ill at the time since his return from Lagos in July.
He was certified dead by a medical doctor at the Dutse General Hospital.
Adam said the cause of his death was unclear, adding that investigation is ongoing.
