The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested two female first-year students of Edo State Polytechnic for allegedly dealing in illicit drugs, spokesman Femi Babafemi said in a statement yesterday.

Babafemi said the suspects, Babalola Modupe Angel, 19, and Esekhagbe Sonia, 20, part-time students of the institution, were arrested on September 23 with 21 wraps of skunk, a narcotic.

He said another woman, Chioma Okocha, 25, was arrested the following day when she allegedly tried to deliver 200grams of crack cocaine to a customer at an eatery in Benin.

Babafemi said the agency equally busted a hotel in Abuja where drugs were sold and young ladies lodged for commercial sex.

He said four persons comprising three women and a man were arrested when the hotel, JAT Suites, located in Lobito Crescent, Wuse 2 was raided and quantities of Rohynol and paraphernalia for smoking crack cocaine recovered on September 22.

He said investigations revealed that the hotel was operated without requisite approvals in the high-profile neighbourhood and patronised by call girls while the bar served as the spot to smoke and sell drugs to the girls and their customers.

Babafemi said several seizures were made in other parts of the country.
