The police authority has dismissed Corporal Chinedu Nwachukwu, who was recently accused of raping a female student of the Abia State Polytechnic, Aba.

The Police corporal was dismissed after he was found guilty of raping the female polytechnic student in an orderly room trial in Umuahia, the state capital.

Nwachukwu is expected to stand trial in a regular court for rape, extortion and other offences.

WITHIN NIGERIA had reported that academic activities were put on hold on Thursday as students of Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, blocked the Aba/Owerri Road protesting alleged rape of three female students by men of the Rapid Response Squad.
