After 29 days in captivity, bandits released the 15-year-old daughter of former Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC) director Alhaji Ahmed Abdulkadir.

On Monday, September 6, Abdulkadir and his daughter, Laila, were kidnapped from their house at Bakori Housing Units in Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Later, the kidnappers phoned the family and demanded N70 million in ransom for their release.

According to his son, Nasif Ahmed, the bandits said N50 million is for the father while N20 million is for Laila.
