A final-year student of Nasarawa State University, Hussain Musa and four others were crushed to death by a vehicle at NYSC Junction, Kubwa in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), on Saturday.

The victims were said to be standing at the junction in order to cross the three busy lanes to the other side of the Kubwa expressway when the vehicle rammed into them.

Hussain Musa with matric number NSU/NAS/MCB/1286/18/19 and two others died instantly while others were rushed to the hospital, where they later died.

According to SaharaReporters, Musa, who left school on Friday night to visit his parent at Pipeline in Kubwa, Abuja was said to be watching a match between English football clubs, Arsenal and Leceister at a viewing centre when his aunty called to send him on an errand to the NYSC Expressway, where he was knocked down.

However, some of his friends also watching the match at the viewing centre, upon hearing about Musa’s death, discontinued watching the match and wept profusely.

“That is not true! Musa just left here now, his aunty sent him a message to get a delivery from the junction. I even told him to get me sachet water while coming, oh no!” one of his friends lamented.

The owner of the viewing centre, who described Musa as a nice and easygoing person, said “Musa just left here after receiving a call, he told me he would soon be back.”

The deceased was said to have rounded off his industrial training (internship) at Byazhin Primary Health Care Centre, Kubwa, Abuja, in September, in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the award of Bachelor of Science (HONS) degree in Microbiology.
