“This is further to the command’s reinvigorated special action plan on the ongoing fight against banditry, kidnapping, armed robbery and other violent crimes across the state.

“The command’s operatives attached to Song Division, in a joint operation with Department of State Services and hunters on the 3/12/2021 extended to Gwazari Hills, Mulleng in Song Local Government Area and rescued six kidnapped victims unharmed.

“Operatives have also recovered one AK-47 rifle after a gun battle that neutralized one of the kidnappers and others escaped with bullet wounds.”

Also, the command’s operatives attached to Gombi Division have apprehended 32-year old Mathias Shingu, a resident of Lagos, in connection with car theft.

“Shingu, a notorious car snatcher who specialises in smuggling stolen vehicles from Nigeria to Cameroon was apprehended while on his way to dispose a stolen Nissan vehicle stolen from a Lagos resident,” Nguroje said.

Commissioner of Police in the state, Mohammed Ahmed Barde, while commending the performance of the officers, noted that joint operation was a good initiative.

He assured of massive deployment of both human and other operational assets of the command to reinforce and consolidate on keeping Adamawa safe.

“Frequent joint operations is aimed at preventing and dislodging bandits from their current operational spaces and denying them the space to regroup in other parts of the state.

“It will also ensure that all arrested bandits and their collaborators are brought to book,” Nguroje added.
