Four persons escaped death in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, on Tuesday night after a container fell on the car they were travelling in.

The container, which was put on a trailer, unexpectedly fell off and crashed on a passing automobile, according to Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, Head of Media, State Fire Service, in Ilorin on Wednesday.

The accident happened near the Offa motor park roundabout, directly across from the Bovas gasoline station.

The four victims of the accident were recovered alive by a joint team of the Kwara State Fire Service, KWATMA, the Federal Road Safety Commission, and the Nigeria Police Force.

He said, “the accident involved a trailer in motion conveying loaded container, suddenly the container fell off from the trailer and landed on a passing car.

” In this car, four people were trapped but were rescued alive by the available team.”

Adekunle said Rasaq Jidda, Chairman Special Taskforce to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, was the one who summoned the Brigade on the incident.

Reports alleged that the accident was caused because custom officers pursued the trailer.

The Director, Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade Olumuyiwa, urged everyone to be more vigilant especially while driving on the roads.
