AIG Sanusi Buba, the outgoing Katsina State Commissioner of Police and freshly appointed Assistant Inspector General of Police, has revealed that in the year 2021, five police officers paid the ultimate price in a struggle with notorious bandits.

He said that the five police officers were killed in Katsina State in an attempt to end the state’s severe insecurity issues.

During the command’s end-of-year press conference at the State headquarters on Thursday, AIG Sanusi Buba, who was represented by the State’s Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Police SP Gambo Isah, revealed this.

However, AIG Buba said the police operatives in the State, on their part, succeeded in killing 38 suspected bandits. They also recovered weapons and vehicles used by the criminals during the year under review.

“The command also recovered 20 suspected motor vehicles and 18 motorcycles suspected to be stolen or belonging to bandits.”

He also disclosed that 215 kidnap victims were rescued, with a total of 1,243 domestic animals recovered, including 867 cows, 352 sheep, 24 goats and one donkey.
