The Police in Kebbi State, on Monday, said 16 persons, not 50, were killed by bandits in Dankade village on Friday.

WITHIN NIGERIA gathered that a number of armed men attacked the community in Danko/Wsaagu Local Government Area of the state.

DSP Nafi’u Abubakar, the Public Relations Officer, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) the deceased included security operatives.

He said the incident happened around 3.00 pm as bandits coming from Zamfara invaded the Dankade and killed 13 civilians, 1 police officer and 2 soldiers.
