A 38-year-old doctor, identified as Otote Osaikhuomwan was shot dead by suspected assassins on Monday morning, February 15 in Benin City, Edo state capital.

The deceased, who works at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital’s Department of Ophthalmology was killed in the presence of his pregnant wife after the gunmen gained access into his house located at GRA, Benin City.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Bello Kongtons, who confirmed the killing said no suspect has been arrested.

Kongtons said; “Yes, the doctor was shot dead. The police is working to unravel the circumstance behind the killing and arrest the perpetrators.”
