Gunmen have abducted the son of a Taraba monarch alongside 7 others at Illela village in Karim-Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State.

According to Daily Trust, the gunmen numbering over 15 who invaded the village at about 4pm on Thursday February 17, are reportedly part of the bandits that have been terrorizing the area for the past few months.

A resident of the village, Dauda Suleiman told the publication that the eight people including son of the District Head of Zip town were abducted and taken to an unknown location. He said the bandits are now in control of the area and they move with guns freely during the day and night.

Suleiman said there’s no presence of security agents, and many people including women are robbed and kidnapped.
