Operatives of the Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, have recovered the lifeless body of a 55-year-old man, Isyaku Shuaibu in the Kiyawa Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

The state NSCDC Public Relations Officer, Adamu Shehu, who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, said the incident happened on Tuesday around 9.30am.

According to Shehu, a distress call was received by the command, prompting the deployment of a medical team to the scene of the incident.

“On arrival, the dead body of Shuaibu was recovered by the roadside on Kiyawa- Andaza, about two kilometres away from Andaza town.

“On preliminary examination at the scene, there was no sign of physical injuries or bruises. Thereafter, the body was conveyed to the General Hospital, Dutse, for post-mortem,” the statement added.

The deceased’s family was quoted to have said Shuaibu left home with the intention of going to Sara, a community market that operated every Tuesday.

The family said they are dumbfounded that his dead body was discovered by the roadside.

Shehu said the state Commandant, Mustapha Talba, had deployed officers to conduct thorough investigations in the area.

He urged residents not to panic, as efforts are on-going to unravel the circumstances that led to the deceased’s death.
