Hoodlums kill woman, kidnap her two-year-old daughter in Aba hotel

An unidentified woman has been killed by hoodlums in a hotel at Ubani Street, Ogbor Hill in the commercial city of Aba in Abia State.

The State Police Spokesman, SP Geoffrey Ogbonna, who confirmed the incident on Friday said the incident happened on April 15.

According to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), sources in the area said that the assailants fled with the woman’s child from the hotel after killing her.

A resident of the area, Chimuanya Ezenna, alleged that the hotel had been known for several unresolved cases of murder and missing customers.

Ogbonna also said that the command had intensified investigations to unravel those behind the killing and abduction of the deceased two-year-old girl.

The PPRO said that the remains of the woman had been deposited at a morgue in Aba.

He said that the state Criminal Investigation Department was handling the matter.

Ogbonna also said that the command would be glad to receive any useful information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators of the crime.

He gave out his telephone number and that of the Commissioner of Police as 08094448883 and 08039148294, respectively.

He urged members of the public willing to give credible information on the crime to do so using either of the numbers.

He further advised that such information could also be availed any police station in the state.
