Former Kaduna lawmaker, Shehu Sani has revealed the only way the Southern region of Nigeria can produce President in the 2023 elections.

Several groups and well-meaning individuals have been clamouring for the return of the presidency to the southern region come 2023 for fairness, justice and equity.

However, the All Progressives congress, APC, and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, are still undecided on where to zone the presidential ticket.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that the APC Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja last week, told reporters that the party had not taken a stance on zoning.

“I am today privileged to be the chairman of the party. The party is greater than me. The party has not made a decision and I cannot preempt what the party decision will be,” he had said.

Sani, on Tuesday, said the only way a Southern President can emerge in 2023 is if the major political parties produced their presidential candidates from the region.

His tweet read: “Power will shift to the South only if the candidates of the two main political parties are picked from the South.”
