Three children, 6 others injured as bus crashes in Abuja

Three children, five men and a woman sustained injuries when a bus crashed along the Abuja-Lokoja highway in the Federal Capital Territory.

According to Daily Trust, a witness said the accident which happened around 3pm in the Gwagwalada area, involved a Sharon bus with registration number, BWR 217 CG.

He said the bus which was coming from the Lokoja axis hit a speed breaker near an overhead bridge, lost control and crashed into a drain.

The Gwagwalada Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, ACC Olasupo Esuruoso, said, “I am still waiting to get details of the crash from my men who have gone to the scene to rescue the victims to the hospital. I will get back to you when they return.”

Similarly, two persons were injured in another accident at Kuchingoro on airport road in Abuja.

The accident was said to involved a Toyota Jaguar with registration number, BKW 140 XA, and a bus with registration number, BL 842 RBC.

An FRSC official, who preferred anonymity, confirmed the accident, adding that the victims had been taken to the Garki General Hospital.
