Qudus Ganiy, a suspected cultist, has been captured by agents of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps).

The So-Safe Corps, Lotto Division, took the suspect into custody on Friday while conducting a routine patrol.

Ganiyu was allegedly “threatening and harassing passersby with a gun” at Lotto Bus Stop near Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun when the team received a distress call at around 10:09am.

The So-Safe Corps spokesman, Moruf Yusuf, described Ganiy as “a deadly member of Aye Confraternity,” who he said had been on the police watch list after he reportedly escaped from the Redeemed Police Divisional Headquarters, Mowe.

The suspect was apprehended as he handed other confraternity members who managed to avoid arrest his short gun.

“He has been handed over to the police for further investigation and likely prosecution,” Yusuf said.
