On Saturday night, eleven persons perished in a multi-vehicle collision close to the Isara Bridge in Ogere off the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

In the ensuing inferno, seven other persons were injured to differing degrees.

On Sunday in Abeokuta, Mr. Ahmed Umar, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, verified the fatalities.

According to Umar, excessive speeding was what led to the 10.35 p.m. accident, which included two Mazda buses and a car.

He continued by saying that the burned-out automobiles and the deceased were no longer identifiable.

Six of the seven injured people were transported to local Ogere hospital for treatment, and the seventh was transported to Babcock University Teaching Hospital, Ilisan, also in Ogun, for care.

“Motorists are advised to drive cautiously, obey traffic rules and regulations and also cooperate with traffic managers,’’ he admonished.
